Making for Patients with Limb Deformities – Hamad General Hospital, Doha, Qatar; Sinai

Hospital of Baltimore, Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, Baltimore, MD, USA

2017 – The Role of Undiagnosed Primary Immunodeficiency in Orthopedic Infection

2017 – BMP-2 effect on new cancer development after its use on long bones; Sinai

Hospital of Baltimore, Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics, Baltimore, MD, USA,

2014 – Ongoing. Ultrasound as a Diagnostic Tool for Suspected Scaphoid Fractures. We hypothesize that ultrasound could be highly effective diagnostic tool for scaphoid fractures in

acute setting, it may yield sensitivity and specificity compared and superior with other

imaging modalities. We are compering ultrasound for the diagnosis of acute scaphoid fracture

with reference standard. It is a prospective study.

2014 – Ongoing. Simplified Technique of Proximal Femoral Screw Insertion for the AO Interlocking Nail. Our proposed technic minimizing radiation exposure to the surgeon, the

surgical staff and the patient. Also, it decreases anesthesia and operating time. It is a

randomized controlled trial.

2011 – 2013 Surgical Fixation of Polytraumatized Patients with Multiple Fractures. We report case series of bilateral femoral and bilateral tibial fractures sustained in a single

traumatic event in the same patient. This entity of severely injured patients was not

investigated and due to very seldom occurrence and high mortality. In the available English

databases this is the first study describing the management and outcomes of this group of

patients.

2004 – 2006 Idiopathic Scoliosis in Armenia – prevalence, treatment, prognosis.

Prospective study consisting of school screening in the cities and rural areas, data gathering

and statistical analysis. Pediatricians and social workers were involved. Finally,

recommendations drawn from current international databases were adapted for local needs.

2002 – 2004 Total hip replacement in young patients. A study of reconstruction of

acetabular dysplasia. Background - high prevalence of untreated or neglected DDH in

Armenia. A specific semicircular plate designed for acetabulum's posterior wall

reinforcement and reconstruction during THR in patients with acetabular dysplasia.

Developed in conjunction with bioengineers.

2000 – 2002 Bone defects reconstruction after benign bone tumor excision, using

allogenic demineralized bone matrix (DBM). Retrospective-prospective study included the reconstruction of defects after benign bone tumors' excision. The crucial importance of size

and localization, as well as of the pathology itself on outcome was analyzed.
